Dr. Majd Issa joined the HOAF team in 2023 as a board certified Physician in hematology, oncology and internal medicine. Originally from Aleppo, Syria, he received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Aleppo in Syria before completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. He then completed his Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University.
During his time at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Dr. Issa was recognized as the Outstanding Clinical Care by Hematology and Oncology Fellow, the Hematology and Medical Oncology Education Chief Fellow and was awarded a Certificate of Excellence as the Top-Performing Provider. He was also given The Residents’ Choice Award at Unity Health System.
Dr. Issa’s areas of interest include lung, head and neck cancer, bone marrow biopsies and lumbar puncture with and without intrathecal chemotherapy. He values the special connections he makes with his patients and the ability he has to make a genuine impact in their lives. He sees it as a true honor and privilege to play a role in each patient’s journey.
In his free time, Dr. Issa enjoys playing soccer, traveling and spending time with family.
