Dr. Vaughn is the absolute best. He is professional, thorough, compassionate and takes the time needed to explain everything. The nurses are also wonderful. My prognosis in 2016 was 1 to 2 years. In 2022 I’m still receiving treatment (immunotherapy) determined by Dr. Vaughn and I’m still here. I can’t say enough about this facility. They are the best!
Dr. Issa was factual and addressed my situation with empathy. The treatment plan—especially the radiation therapy was physically awful, but it worked—just as Dr. Issa said it would. Keri Bradshaw is a top notch medical professional in this area. Jenn and the Woodstream nurses treat patients with respect and great care. Could not ask for better. Many thanks to all at HOAF from the grumpiest patient you probably ever had. I love you all—you saved my life. An awesome, great team of medical professionals. Thank you for giving me more time.

I did not expect to be transferred to such a nice facility with such lovely staff. It’s my first visit, and I don’t remember any names but thank you to all the infusion staff.

In 2011, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2. I had a double mastectomy with implants. In 2019, I was informed that the cancer had returned. My treatment was 31 days of radiation. The cancer returned again as stage 4. With the help of God and my oncologist, Dr. Menachery, the cancer moved to stage 0. I wish to thank God, my doctor, the team at HOAF and my family, who have been there for me every step of the way. Self-examination is very important. You must be proactive, even if you need a second opinion. l am not afraid, and I am continuing chemo every three weeks with hormone shots, which continue to keep me alive. Thank God for my health, as I have minimal pain; the cancer is not in any of my vital organs, just in my bones. Remember, all cancers are not the same. Just stay positive, trust God and keep the faith.

Getting treatment right away, within days, makes a big difference. Dr. Nanda’s office was always so careful to make it clear that the caregiver is an important part of the process.

What can you say about a team that saved your life? I had a very rare cancer and Doctor Whitehurst researched heavily different treatments and sought out multiple additional expert opinions from several different approaches. He clearly explained every option and gave me great control in the decision making process. The entire practice is dedicated to making an awful experience more bearable. The simple caring touches and the emotional support given from the nurses and support staff is incredible. My favorite nurse Morgan took such good care of me during my initial chemo visit, that it gave me the strength to face the next 9 months. If your life depends on choosing a doctor and a practice, this is where you want to be.
Dr. Maurer and his team are great! He explains things and shows you your images so that you understand your particular situation. Dr. Maurer is very approachable, down to earth, and has amazing bedside manner. Everyone at HOAF has been very helpful, warm, and understanding throughout his diagnosis and follow-up. I would absolutely recommend your facility for treatment. Thank you for caring!
The staff is very knowledgeable and compassionate when you check in and check out. Dr. Moore knows her stuff and goes way beyond by checking my other doctors test results and interpreting them for me in a way that gives me confidence about my health. She is very knowledgeable, very thorough and very compassionate with each visit. I can’t recommend Dr. Moore and HOAF highly enough!
They [HOAF] are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! My mom had breast cancer but also suffers from dementia (with delusions and hallucinations) and they have ALWAYS been proactive and cared more than her primary care doc or anyone else. I couldn’t get my mom into a Neurologist right away and Dr. Bonnie Moore called and got my mom in right away. I just wish they could be her Neurologist, PCP and everything else… So thankful for them [HOAF]!!!
The doctors, nurses, and staff are exceptional. Their passionate care, knowledge and ability to answer questions could not be better. I always feel like I have their complete attention and they really care about me. It can be a difficult journey and this is definitely the right place to be for the journey.
I’ve had a great experience here. Every nurse that I’ve encountered has been kind and caring. The front desk staff is exceptional. Always courteous, polite and efficient. Dr. Menechery is my Oncologist. He and NP Kira always answer my questions and ensure I’m being taken care of. If you have to be seen in oncology, I would recommend this facility.
You aren’t going to find a better staffed medical office. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Maurer was outstanding. He’s very personable and thorough. He answered all my questions and explained my situation clearly. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking.
I have always been treated wonderfully. Everyone makes me feel like a friend/family. I have been coming for 3 years. It’s not always good but not because of the staff it’s my cancer that has been rough. I love Dr. Menachery and all their staff.

Every staff person I met from Hannah at the front desk, to the team in the infusion area, to the nurse practitioners were just absolutely wonderful. They set me at ease and gave me permission to be afraid. I felt like a human being, not a number.

The staff is really great! When I went to my appointment, they were timely and efficient. Everything went smoothly. It was a “positive experience” because no one did anything negative. Just a good appointment that did not take too long. When you have a medical issue, you appreciate it a thousand times more when things go smoothly.
I was really pleased with my experience with the staff and Dr. Whitehurst. He ran a little late, which was fine with me, because he was so kind and apologetic. No big ego with this doctor, he’s very helpful and empathetic. He explained everything very well and even wrote it down down for me to understand. That’s so great since I deal with brain fog. I look forward to seeing him again.
I have a pleasant experience visiting the Fredericksburg facility. The front office is always courteous and efficient. The Doctors and nurses are professional and caring, except I sometimes leave their feeling like a pin cushion. Dr. Menacherry and NP Kyra Laupp are exceptional. They do not rush my appointment, making me feel like the only one, as they explain the lab work up and the numbers. An office of very caring and compassionate staff!
I absolutely love my nurses, Amber and Katelyn! They were both caring and encouraging, always available to answer any questions or address any problems. Dr. Maurer is a wonderful doctor. I had such a good experience with the center and would recommend them without hesitation.
Everyone is professional and great. All listen and take everything seriously and take appropriate follow up actions. It is a great team full off smart, professional and proactive individuals. Everyone I’ve worked with is personable and efficient in their care. I’ve had several iron infusions at this practice. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing…floor to ceiling windows with a nice view of trees outside. Dr. Maurer spent some time explaining my condition and how the treatment works and helps. I’m very pleased with the care I receive at this practice!

My husband (George) had 2 iron infusions at the Hematology Oncology Associates in Fredericksburg VA. The staff and service was excellent. He is feeling much better and wants to thank everyone that helped with his treatment.
No one wants to hear the words you have cancer. I was referred to Dr. Bonny Moore from another doctor. That referral was a God send! Dr. Moore and her nursing staff were very caring and compassionate during the course of my chemo treatments. The nurses always greeted me with a smile on each of my visits and offered words of encouragement that helped get me through it all. I can not thank Dr. Moore and her staff enough for their care during my cancer treatment! I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Moore!!

There is an end when you will start to feel better. Just stay positive, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel much better than I used to and I can do everything with my kids, so that’s been a blessing.

Dr. Simmons is awesome. She is very thorough and kind. I had been having issues that other doctors had not taken the time to explore. My white blood cell count was high. She listened to me and my symptoms. Ordered abdominal ultrasound and I had gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed and now I am doing much better. Great doctor!
Great experience every body there is very professional and very friendly. Dr. Bonny Moore is the best doctor I ever have in my life. She really cares about her patients she treats her patients with respect, kindness and compassion.
