The Surveillance Clinic offers comprehensive care to our patients in active cancer treatment, which includes everything from side effect management to acute and sepsis care.

Active cancer patients have a weakened immune system, and as a result, they are more prone to being sick more severely and for a longer period of time. This puts them at higher risk for catching illnesses and for the need for hospitalization. At HOAF, we help mitigate that risk by providing acute care from the familiar and attentive environment of our clinic, eliminating the need for patients to visit another clinic or seeking emergency care.
When you seek care at our Surveillance Clinic, you’ll receive care from the same team of physicians and nurse practitioners that already know your medical history and the specifics of your treatment. While treating you for an acute condition, we also take potential treatment side effects into consideration when considering your acute care.
When To Visit The Surveillance Clinic
Our goal is to keep our patients who are undergoing cancer treatment such as chemotherapy out of the hospital. Your doctor at HOAF is committed to making sure your health doesn’t worsen when you have fallen ill. We highly recommend you visit us first at the surveillance clinic before heading to the emergency room, except in the case of a true medical emergency. At HOAF’s Surveillance Clinic, our team of nurses offer a supportive space where cancer patients can receive prompt care for a range of conditions, from common illnesses to the prevention or treatment of sepsis. These conditions, which often develop quickly and last a short time, might linger or worsen if left untreated. Our team offers treatment options, including antibiotics and medication to help our oncology patients recover faster and avoid a stay in the hospital.
